Anyone wishing to go online efficiently, for daily emailing and web browsing.

Objectives

    • Connect to a local network, to the Internet and to the Intranet.
    • Understand web browsing and online security concepts.
    • Use the web browser and manage browser settings, bookmarks and web outputs.
    • Search effectively for online information and critically evaluate web content.
    • Understand key copyright and data protection issues.
    • Understand concepts of online communities, communications and email.
    • Send, receive e-mails and manage email settings.
    • Organize and search emails.
    • Use calendars.

    Prerequisites

    It is recommended to complete module « Office tools fundamentals » (C1300) prior to enroling for this module or proof of equivalent certified knowledge.

    Notes

    Participants are entitled to take the ICDL « Online essentials » test free of charge.
