Preamble

This Code of Conduct applies to any person participating in training organised, delivered or offered by the LLLC, including evening classes, seminars, university programmes, ICDL preparation courses and other training programmes. Its purpose is to ensure a respectful, calm, safe and learning-conducive environment for all learners, trainers and staff members.

This Code of Conduct is automatically provided to each participant before or at the start of the training. Participation in an LLLC training programme implies that the participant has read and agrees to comply with the rules set out herein.

Scope of Application

This Code of Conduct applies:

  • to all persons enrolled in an LLLC training programme;
  • to all training formats, whether in person, online or in blended learning;
  • to all locations, platforms, tools and spaces used in connection with the training;
  • throughout the full duration of the training, including any related administrative and educational communication.

General Principles of Conduct

Each participant undertakes to behave in a respectful, courteous and responsible manner towards other participants, speakers, the staff of the host organisation and LLLC staff. Insulting, defamatory, discriminatory, sexually suggestive, religiously offensive or aggressive remarks or behaviour, as well as any conduct likely to disrupt the smooth running of the training, have no place in a training environment and will not be tolerated.

Everyone, whether participant or trainer, contributes to creating and maintaining a learning and working environment that is supportive for all.

This includes respecting schedules, individuals and the group, and adopting an attitude that supports the smooth delivery of training activities.

Participation in a training programme is strictly personal. No participant may be accompanied by a person who is not enrolled in the training, nor may participation be delegated to a third party. Only duly registered participants are allowed to take part in training activities.

Respect for Others

Any person involved in an LLLC training activity, whether a participant, trainer or any other contributor, is expected to behave in a respectful, courteous and responsible manner towards other participants, contributors, LLLC staff and the staff of any host organisation.

These principles apply in all contexts related to the training, including classrooms, common areas, email exchanges, collaborative spaces, forums, instant messaging tools and videoconferences.

Respect for each person’s privacy, dignity and image is mandatory. It is prohibited to record, photograph, film or distribute another person’s words, image or documents without prior authorisation.

Everyone is expected to respect both individuals and the group, listen attentively to others, respect the diversity of opinions and experiences, and encourage constructive exchanges. Every person must be able to express themselves freely in an atmosphere of trust, without fear of being judged, mocked, interrupted or excluded.

Use of Premises and Equipment

Learners must use classrooms, equipment, computers, software, teaching materials and all resources made available to them with due care and for their intended purpose only. Any malfunction, damage, deterioration or other incident must be reported without delay to the trainer or the appropriate staff member.

Premises must be left reasonably clean and tidy after each session. It is prohibited to alter any installation, move sensitive equipment or interfere with technical equipment without prior authorisation.

The refrigerators available in LLLC training rooms are reserved exclusively for storing the water bottles provided as part of the training. It is prohibited to change the temperature settings or remove the water bottles in order to store food or any other personal items.

Use of Digital Tools

Usernames, passwords and personal access credentials that may be provided by the LLLC are strictly personal and confidential. They may not be shared, lent or used to access another participant’s account.

The use of LLLC digital tools must remain strictly related to training activities. In particular, participants are prohibited from attempting to bypass security measures, installing software without authorisation, disrupting network operations, accessing or distributing unlawful or offensive content or content incompatible with the educational context, or interfering with other people’s data or files.

Distance Learning and Videoconferencing

In the context of distance learning, participants undertake to log in in a serious and responsible manner, use an identifiable name, follow the speaking rules set by the trainer and avoid any disruptive behaviour. Microphones must be muted when requested, and cameras must be used in accordance with the trainer’s instructions.

Interactions in chats, forums, learning platforms and collaborative spaces must remain professional and respectful. The same standards of courtesy, confidentiality and respect apply there just as strictly as they do in face-to-face exchanges.

Intellectual Property and Course Materials

Course materials, exercises, videos, documents, presentations, recordings, digital resources and content provided as part of the training are intended for personal use in connection with learning. Unless expressly authorised, they may not be copied, distributed, published, commercialised or shared with third parties.

Each participant also undertakes to respect copyright when using external content in their work, presentations or exchanges. Sources must be acknowledged whenever required.

Confidentiality and Data Protection

Information obtained during the training, especially where it concerns other participants, trainers, course organisation or certain internal content, must be treated with discretion. Participants must refrain from disclosing non-public documents, information or personal data.

The LLLC may use digital tools and platforms involving the processing of personal data. In this context, learners are expected to use these services responsibly and in accordance with the instructions provided.

As stated in the general terms and conditions, candidates may consult information about their rights regarding the protection of their personal data here.

Safety and Well-Being

Each participant must look after their own safety and that of others by complying with the rules applicable on the premises where the training takes place. Any accident, incident, illness or risk situation must be reported immediately to a staff member or the trainer.

Each participant is expected to adopt behaviour that is compatible with a safe and calm learning environment. Any clearly inappropriate conduct, including conduct under the influence of alcohol or other substances, may justify immediate action by the LLLC.

Breaches and Possible Measures

In the event of non-compliance with this Code of Conduct, the LLLC may take measures proportionate to the seriousness of the facts and the training context. Depending on the situation, this may range from a reminder of the rules to temporary or permanent exclusion from the training, without prejudice to any other action that may be justified by the circumstances.

Where necessary, the LLLC also reserves the right to restrict access to certain tools, spaces or services, in particular digital ones, in order to preserve safety, the proper conduct of activities and the rights of other participants.

Acceptance of the Code of Conduct

Participation in an LLLC training course constitutes an undertaking to comply with this Code of Conduct. This Code forms an integral part of the general terms and conditions applicable to each training course and is accessible via an electronic link. It may, where appropriate, be supplemented by specific instructions applicable to certain training courses, platforms, rooms, or examinations.
