There is no age limit to learning. Lifelong learning not only meets everyone’s need for personal development, but is also an effective way to remain active in life.
In 2019, the Luxembourg Lifelong Learning Centre (LLLC) embarked on an initiative dedicated to training for seniors. It offers people aged over 60 and retirees a wide range of courses, activities, lectures and even “learning walks”, all tailored to their needs and pace.
Thanks to positive feedback from participants, this offer continues to expand. The programme is regularly reviewed and updated to better meet the expectations and requirements of senior participants, and to provide a programme that is relevant, appealing and engaging.
One of the key advantages for senior participants is that they learn for pleasure, in a relaxed atmosphere, and in subjects that interest them. Attending classes thus becomes a genuine pleasure rather than a source of stress—stress that was often associated in the past with homework and exams.
In short, it is learning for pleasure—but not only that.
Training also has a social dimension, enabling participants to acquire new knowledge and skills through adapted teaching methods, while meeting new people.
Please note: For members of a trade union represented in the CSL plenary assembly (OGBL, LCGB, ALEBA, SYPROLUX), the cost of training and lunch is covered by the respective union. In this case, please return the completed registration form to your union’s secretariat.
