Objectives
CISCO SWRE (Switching, Routing, and Wireless Essentials) is the second course of the CCNA curriculum which focuses on switching technologies and router operations that support small to medium business networks and covers wireless LAN (WLAN/Wireless Local Area Network) networks and security concepts.
Candidates learn key switching and routing concepts. They can perform basic network configuration and troubleshooting, identify and mitigate local area network (LAN) security threats, and configure and secure a basic WLAN.
Content
Candidates will learn these core skills:
- Know important basic switching and concepts of routing.
- Work with routers, switches and wireless devices to configure and troubleshoot VLANs, Wireless LANs and Inter-VLAN routing.
- Build a network infrastructure for a company having one or many branches.
- Secure your network infrastructure from internal or external attacks using various security techniques for your routers and switchers.
- Maintain and troubleshoot routers and switches like backup and restore configuration, fix operating system problems and password recovery solutions.
- Identify and mitigate LAN network security threats.
- Configure and secure basic wireless LAN.
Prerequisites
To enroll in this course, candidates must first have taken the « CCNA-Introduction to Networks » course or an equivalent course, or have passed a test to validate the skills needed to take this course.
