Objectives

Get foundational knowledge and essential skills for all cybersecurity domains including information security, system security, network security, ethics and laws and defense an mitigation techniques used in protecting businesses.

Recommended if you are considering studying for the CCNA or CyberOps Associate certifications. Prerequisite Introduction to Cyber Security or equivalent knowledge recommended.

Target audience

Anyone interested in learning about cybercrime, security principles, technologies and procedures used to defend networks or for any professional responsible for the security and privacy of a company or client’s systems.

To enroll in this course, candidates must first have taken the « Introduction to Cybersecurity » course or an equivalent course, or have passed a test to validate the skills needed to take this course.

Organisation

The training lasts approximately 30 hours, usually on Tuesdays and one Wednesday, including 23,5 hours of classroom training and 6,5 hours of e-learning.

Training schedule (subject to change): 9am-4:30pm (sessions 1 to 3) and 9am-1pm (session 4)

The pedagogical method emphasizes on the know-how as well as on the skills. It aims to develop, thanks to the transversal approach and the alternating system, the knowledge and greater autonomy essential to their professional practice.

This training combines theoretical contributions and practical exercises in the laboratory, as well as in e-learning on the CiscoNetAcademy platform.

COURSE 2 – CYBER SECURITY ESSENTIALS

Candidates will learn these core skills:

• Understand security controls for networks, servers and applications.

• Implement proper procedures for data confidentiality and availability. Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills using real equipment and Cisco Packet Tracer.
• Gain insight into the importance of cybersecurity and the integral role of cybersecurity professionals.
• Explore foundational cybersecurity principles, security architecture, risk management, attacks, incidents, cryptography and emerging IT technologies.

Certification

Upon successful completion of all sessions, the candidate will be awarded a certificate of completion and a statement of attendance.
