CI1545 - Networking Devices and Initial Configuration

Target audience

Anyone wishing to strengthen their networking skills, who already has a foundational understanding (for example, through a Networking Basics course), with the aim of progressing toward an entry-level IT position, the Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) Networking certification, or further studies in Cybersecurity, Automation, or CCNA.

Objectives

  • Understand basic networking concepts and terminology.
  • Identify the components of a network (devices, transmission media, protocols) and describe their functions.
  • Observe how data flows across a network.
  • Configure devices to connect them to a network.
  • Use different network applications and protocols to access services and exchange data.
  • Prepare for the Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) Networking certification exam.

Prerequisites

Successful completion of the module « Networking Basics » (CI1544) or proof of equivalent certified knowledge.

Notes

The course will take place on Tuesday evenings from 18:00 - 20:00 and Saturday mornings 08:00 - 10:00.
