Cours du soir
CI1543 - Intermediate Python Concepts

Target audience

Anyone wishing to learn programming from scratch and master Python.

Objectives

  • Master object-oriented programming - design and use classes, objects, inheritance, and encapsulation to model real-world problems.
  • Handle errors and exceptions robustly - anticipate and manage failures using try/except, custom exceptions, and defensive coding practices.
  • Work with files, APIs, and external data - read/write structured files (CSV, JSON), and fetch data from web APIs.
  • Use the Python ecosystem - leverage the standard library and third-party packages (e.g. requests, pandas) to avoid reinventing the wheel.
  • Write better code - apply Pythonic idioms (comprehensions, generators, decorators), understand complexity basics, and structure multi-file projects.

Prerequisites

Successful completion of the course « Introduction to programming using Python  » (CI1542) or proof of equivalent certified knowledge.
