Objectives
Gain hands-on experience with Linux commands through the course’s built-in Linux virtual machine, as almost all IT jobs require some knowledge of Linux.
The Linux Essentials course covers the fundamentals of the Linux operating system and command line. It teaches students about the Linux operating system, basic open source concepts, how Linux is used, and the basics of the Linux command line. It uses a “learn by doing” approach and gives each learner hands-on access to a Linux virtual machine to practice, explore, and test Linux command line concepts.

Organisation
The training lasts approximately 70 hours, including 52 hours of classroom training and 18 hours of e-learning.
Training hours: 9am – 4:30pm.
The pedagogical method emphasizes on the know-how as well as on the skills. It aims to develop, thanks to the transversal approach and the alternating system, the knowledge and greater autonomy essential to their professional practice.
This training combines theoretical contributions and practical exercises in the laboratory, as well as in e-learning on the Cisco Networking Academy platform.

Candidates will learn these core skills:
Develop a working knowledge of the Linux command line;
Install and configure a computer running Linux;
Configure a basic network using virtual machines;
Configure the basic network using virtual machines running Linux;
Perform data management and scripting; learn about interfaces and security; and discover network fundamentals;
Prepare for Linux Essentials Exam 010 – Version 1.6.
Certification
Upon successful completion of all sessions, the candidate will be awarded a certificate of completion and a statement of attendance.
This course prepares you for the industry-recognized « Linux Essentials Certificate Exam, version 1.6 » certification, which attests to your competence in a specific technology area.
