Introduction

The Government must request the opinion of the Chamber of Employees with regard to all draft laws and regulations concerning employees.
This is the consultative function that all professional chambers carry out and which is their main task. The Chamber of Employees is organically involved in the country’s legislative process through its advisory function.
The CSL also advises with regard proposals for European legislation on its own initiative and can recommend bills on its own initiative.
All recent opinions can be consulted under formulated opinions.
They include:

a summary of each draft Grand-Ducal law or regulation (only selected projects)
CSL opinion (in full)
the text of the Grand Ducal law or regulation (if available).

The directory of draft legislation for which opinions have not yet been adopted by the plenary assembly is to be found under draft laws awaiting opinion, some of which include a summary of the text.
By summarising the main points, CSL indicates the content of a draft legislative text quickly. In many cases, the main points of the drafts are also included in the opinions themselves.
