Launch of the Quality of Work Index 2026: the changing world of work – well-being, climate risks and artificial intelligence at the heart of the survey

Data collection for the 2026 wave of the Quality of Work Luxembourg study, conducted by the Chamber of Employees (CSL) in collaboration with the University of Luxembourg, will take place in spring and summer 2026.

As in previous years, the research institute infas (Bonn, Germany) has been commissioned to carry out this survey among a large number of employees in Luxembourg, focusing on their working conditions in an evolving professional environment.

This year, particular emphasis is placed on working conditions and well-being, as well as on two specific topics: the experience of climate change-related risks in the workplace and the use of artificial intelligence in professional settings.

Approximately 19,000 individuals will be contacted between early June and September 2026. Of these, 3,000 respondents from the existing panel will be invited to participate in telephone interviews. In parallel, 16,000 individuals randomly selected by the IGSS will receive an invitation letter to take part in the survey.

Participants may choose between a telephone interview or completing the questionnaire online. Participation is voluntary, and all responses will be treated in strict confidence and remain fully anonymous.

The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and is aimed at individuals aged 18 to 64 who work at least 10 hours per week and either reside in Luxembourg or are cross-border workers (Germany, Belgium, France).

For the CSL, having access to reliable data is essential to analyze developments in the world of work and to actively represent and defend the interests of employees. We would like to thank in advance all those who take part in this important initiative.
