Find out quickly how much your pension will be, and how much your pension will be reduced if you combine it with a salary or another pension!

In order to save you from having to deal with the rather complicated provisions of the Social Security Code, CSL has drawn up a table enabling you to estimate the replacement rate between an old-age pension and a constant level of salary for a full career (40 years in Luxembourg).

The replacement rate can be defined here as the ratio between the level of a gross wage, constant throughout the period of activity, and the gross amount of the pension.

For example, if a person receives a gross pension of €2 400 when his or her gross salary was €3 000 on average, the replacement rate between salary and pension, can be said to be 80%.

Combining an early retirement pension with a salary

If you receive an early retirement pension before the age of 65, your pension may be reduced if you continue your employment.

The CSL has developed a software program that can be used to calculate the amount of your early retirement pension reduction if you combine it with a salary.

All you have to do is enter the gross monthly amount of your early retirement pension, the amount of your gross salary and the average of your five highest salaries for contributions (which you will find on the statement sent to you each year by the Joint Social Security Centre: you calculate the average of the five best annual salaries and divide it by 12).

This will automatically give you the gross amount of the reduced pension.
